Traffic has been plaguing the streets of Texas for so many years now, and as industrialization continues to rise, development around the state causes the traffic to slow down. The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, also known as CTRMA for short, is doing the best that they can to decongest the traffic situation in the state. The agency is being led by Mike Heiligenstein, a passionate Texan who dreams of improving the traffic situation in Texas, especially the roads inside the major metropolis of the state like Dallas and Austin. Through the years, the problem with traffic congestion in Texas has grown exponentially. With industrialization and development, the roads started to become full, and as the population of these cities rise, more and more people are taking up their vehicles with them, adding to the number of traffic inside the city. The inconvenience this problem has brought to the people is unimaginable, and it could sometimes become fatal – like when an ambulance becomes stuck inside the horrendous traffic situation. People have been complaining about the problem, and the government is doing the best that they can to address this situation. Economists are also warning that if the traffic congestion could not be addressed properly, it would take its toll on the state’s economy. Today, economists believe that traffic jams are costing the state of Texas billions of dollars – meaning that potential income are lost as these goods and services are stuck inside their roads.
The solution that Mike Heiligenstein is proposing is to install a futuristic computer system that would be integrated will all the roads inside the state. Another thing proposed is to build new road networks that would ease the traffic congestion problems. This proposal resulted in the creation of a new toll road in Austin, which the city government has opened just recently. An express lane has been added to this new toll road to service people who are in a hurry, and the CTRMA have conducted a study as to how these express lanes could actually result in solving the traffic woes of Texas. As the days passed, more and more people are seen to be using these express lanes, and their travel time was significantly reduced. Reactions from the public are generally positive, and the idea of creating new road networks are seen to be the future of Texas roads. Because of the result of this study, Mike Heiligenstein have already given the go signal to build smart roads in the future that would lessen road accidents and would ease the traffic congestion around the state.
